The FIAP association was founded by Paul Delouvrier in 1962. Its purpose: to help build a Europe that would be open to the rest of the world, to combat racism and to foster cultural exchanges among young people around the world. In 1988, FIAP was renamed Jean Monnet, as a tribute to one of Europe's founding fathers.
The centre was opened in the heart of Paris in 1968 and its its fundamental commitment aims to receive young visitors from around the world.
